Terms of Service
Last updated: October 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and TerraTakeoff ("we", "us"), the business that runs TerraTakeoff (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. If you use TerraTakeoff for a company, you agree on its behalf.
1. What TerraTakeoff is
TerraTakeoff is a web app for measuring plans and satellite maps and preparing quantity takeoffs. It is a drawing and calculation tool that helps you prepare your own estimates. It is not a survey, an engineering or design service, or professional advice.
2. Measurements are your responsibility
Every measurement, quantity and total in TerraTakeoff is an estimate that depends on what you put in. Results can be wrong because of, for example: a wrong or missing scale, plans that are not drawn to scale or were resized when printed or scanned, points placed in the wrong spot, missing or duplicated items, outdated or distorted satellite imagery, the slope of the ground, or a mistake in the software.
- You are solely responsible for checking every measurement and quantity, on the plans and on site, before you use it for a bid, proposal, contract, material order, invoice or any work.
- You decide how much waste, overage and contingency to add. TerraTakeoff's waste and depth settings are only arithmetic on your inputs.
- We are not responsible for any loss caused by a measurement or quantity, including underbids or overbids, lost jobs, material shortages or surpluses, extra labor, delays, rework, disputes with clients, or penalties.
- Satellite imagery is provided by third parties, may be years old or offset, and is not a substitute for a site visit or a survey. Property lines on maps are not shown and must never be taken from TerraTakeoff.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and use a real email address.
- Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- An account is for one person. Everyone who uses TerraTakeoff needs their own account.
4. Free trial
New accounts get a free trial (currently 14 days, with up to 2 projects and 50 measurements) without a payment card. When it ends, you need a paid subscription to keep using the Service. We may change or end trial offers for new accounts.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Subscriptions are paid in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment processor, Stripe.
- They renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime in Settings, under Plan & billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then.
- Prices are in US dollars and don't include sales tax, which we add where the law requires it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A new price applies from your next renewal.
- If a payment fails, we may pause your access until it's fixed.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
6. Your content
Your plans, projects and measurements ("Your Content") belong to you. You give us permission to store, copy and process Your Content only as needed to run the Service for you. You confirm that you have the right to upload the plans you use, for example plans a client or designer gave you for a project you're bidding on.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law or violate anyone's rights. Don't try to get into other people's accounts or data, disrupt or overload the Service, reverse engineer it, use it to build a competing product, upload malicious files, or share your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
8. Other companies' services
Maps, satellite imagery and address search come from Esri and its partners, and imagery can be out of date or imprecise. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your use of those features is also subject to those companies' terms.
9. Availability and backups
We work to keep TerraTakeoff available and your data safe, but the Service may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Keep your own copies of important work, for example by downloading marked-up PDFs and reports.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, including losses caused by measurement or estimating errors. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
12. Your responsibility to us
You agree to defend and hold harmless TerraTakeoff from any claim by your clients or anyone else that arises from your bids, estimates, orders or work, from Your Content, or from your breaking these terms.
13. Closing your account
You can stop using TerraTakeoff anytime and ask us to delete your account by email. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or don't pay. After an account is closed, we delete Your Content within 30 days, and from backups within 60 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the new terms apply.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in that state, and both of us agree to their jurisdiction.
